    Did you figure it out?

When looking at the plueger pump you will notice that one of the forward facing ports is directly plumbed (by machining inside the pump) to the o-ringed port that mates to the block. This will be filtered oil from the filter. The port directly below that is the supply to the filter and the one below the supply will be the scavenge return to the tank. From the back side the top port is the suction side (from tank) of the "pressure" or oil supply section and the one below outward of it is the pan scavenge (typically a -16 or -20). Fifteen years of running the same pumps....all kinds of tricks for them. Just remember that the pump is basically two in one. Outside pump being scavenge and the inside being supply, keep those two sections seperate. Have a great day. bcw

Is There A Major Advantage Using The Davenport Bypass?
I Heard It Boosts Pressure, Keeps Trash Out The Tank

The Davenport piece is a safety item. It stops the line from blowing off at the hit or somewhere down track and taking a racecar with it. I have never really noticed a big change in pressure. If you run a System 1 in the return to the tank, it will catch the big stuff. Some small stuff will make it past the filter. Periodic cleaning of the tank is still recommended.
