I would locate an electrical supply co. in your area and buy wire from them.
I would also use what is called MTW wire short for machine tool wiring. the THHN style wire is a little to stiff for use on race cars in my opinion. Or use automotive grade wire which is like MTW you can by larger rolls of it from NAPA etc!

Try the PICO wiring guys in Oregon. It is a father and son run company who ran a top alcohol funny car for years before quitting a couple of years ago. They are great guys to deal with. Matt Goss is the guy to talk to- he is the son and I believe is still running the business. His dad's name is Jim Goss. try this number 1 541-688-9646.

If you are looking for a quality connector, try Deutch. I'm not sure that they are mil spec but they use them in the top quality off road race trucks and buggies and they are OEM on Caterpillar engines. Great parts.

The best wire I have used is called TEW..It is a multi-strand wire..comes in a bunch of colors..rated at a 105 deg celcius (220 F) I have done 4 cars with it and I really like working with it..If you go to your local electrcial supply house (not Home Depot) they will have it.. As for connectors I use Sta-Kon connectors from T+B.. again you can get these from your local electrical supply house.. Now for the reality part.... TEW 14 or 12 gauge and T+B connectors are not cheap, they are all 1st class, but you get what you pay for..The last 2 cars we did we used TEW and T+B..also the car owner wanted each wire marked ..I had heat shrink labels made up ...The labels were white with black marking printed on them ...the labels and the printer are from Brady ...I paid 50 cents per label..some of the labels we cut in half because of the marking GRD (Ground) F/P (Fuel Pump).. If you need some help finding some of this stuff send me an email I might be able to point you in the right direction....Good Luck

    http://www.terminalsupplyco.com

Try this one. They were at PRI a few years ago. If you give them a call they'll send you one of their catalogs, it's pretty big, covers everything from led lights for your trailer to battery cables and crimpers.

    Waytek

I have had great luck with the products, and variety from Waytek (shown in the previous post) They have electrical products ranging from run of the mill to very high end, with no min quantity. If you cant find some type of conenctor or electircal device in the Waytek Catalog it simply does not exist.
