    Happy Holidays!
I have been collecting KB hemi parts through 2006 and now I am ready to start putting everything together. I have a Stage 3 KB Block, no windows or saddles. I just got it back from the machine shop with fresh Line Hone and a fresh hone on the 4.310 Sleeves. I have new B2 Brooks Rods, Venolia Pistons and a good 4.5 KB crank (no cracks, checked excellent) everything just back from the balancing shop. This is a blown 14-71 Roots Hi helix with Brad fuel Head, System1 Dry Sump oil system.
    My questions are the following:
What bearing clearances should I run?
How much oil should I run?
Please provide all other clearances, rod side, crank end play, etc.
Any oil restriction modifications that need to be perfromed to the block.
I probably have other ?'s but I will ask later.
    Thanks,
    Joe

Joe, you are really limited to what the crank grinder has done with a std bearing. Assuming it is std. Lots, somewhere around .005 and hopefully under .008 endplay. Side play at least .030 to .070. Again how the crank is ground and rods built. 60 wt needs clearance.
Very important on a stage 3 to check conrod to cam lobe clearance. Very tight with a modern 116 C/L cam. With motor assembled, turn upside down and rotate engine a few degrees at a time and insert feeler guages in between rod and lobe. You must check all of them. I used to mark them and then sand a spot on the rod to get clearance. I tried to get .060 clearance. You can get quite a few runs with a roots so shouldn't be too bad. PM me with your email if you want further questions answered

You will have to clerance the rods with almost any cam size with that stroke crank. I actualy recommend a smaller crank or a raised cam block. If I had a choice with mine I would have done it different. With the b2 rod I had to clearance the rods more than I wanted to with a small cam. I need a big cam now to run 6.0 or better so no other choice but to sell my stage 3. that block is out dated anyways. Great deals out there on tfx and kb's for the budget racer. It will work if you have no other choice and dale can get ya there.

I just went through the same experience with VERY similar parts. It is definately a learning experience. Feel free to send a PM or email and I'll be glad to help all I can.
