We tried every which way you can with two 12 volt batteries connected together in series for 24 volts to be able to charge with a 12 volt charger. It had to be fool proof otherwise you either burn up the electronics or the charger. It can't be something you can forget once and get a way with it. I had three Electrical Engineers work on the task at work but there was nothing that could be done cheaply because of the 300 amp current draw of a starter trying to turn a motor with a blower on it. After melting battery cables and starting a fire we switched to a 24 volt charger and have had zero problems. Now CSR make a box that you wire the two batteries into and it gives you 24 and 12 volts out and can be charged via a 12 volt charger. It is $695 but then a 24 volt charger cost us just over $300.

we run 2 12 volt batteries together to get 24 volts just like your talking about and i've got 2 seperate charging jacks for each battery its like having 2 charging systems you have to charge each battery seperate.now to get 12 volts just run wires to the frist battery like its the only one there..hope this helps and you understand how this works.
