depends on tire size, the bigger the tire the 4.56 would be better. But depends at what RPM through the lights you need. Lots of HP you could go to the 4.11 with a smaller tire

You have not supplied enough information for anyone to give you a proper answer.
Tire size ? Transmission 1st & 2nd gear ratios ? Type of clutch ? Engine RPM range ? How much torque ? Weight of the car ? Distance to travel 1/8 1/4 or ? What type of traction surface ?

what rear gear are you running now? how much rpm are you willing to run? you could also drop to 34.5 tires.

Most of the really fast alky cars run a 4.30 gear with a 34.5 @ 10.000 with a screw blower. That combo in a TEW car will run 9.000 with a littlefield retro 14-71 and a CIFCA are with the combo will usually run 7.200 through the lights. It all depends on what class your going for and cam, trans, blower all matter in the equation. If you decide to run a 36" tire than run a 56 gear. You also want to be in second as long as you can. Have a few gear sets or tranys for different track surfaces.Keep in mind that All blown alky engines need rpm to get the boost your looking for. No rpm than no boost = slow et. Pick someone you trust and give them all the info they need so you get the correct help.
    My 02 cents

We run a 36 inch tyre and use 4;30 rear end gears.
