Hemi Front Seal HELP!!

    I took my Pro Mod car to the track saturday for the first time with a blown hemi. I never made it off the jacks. the front seal started leaking while we were warming it up. My problem is I cant find a seal and I dont know if this uses a stock type hemi seal or not. It is an older KB block with a KB geardrive. The seal that came out is a National 450621 but I cant seem to find it anywhere. Any info would help! Thanks!

    seal

    you probably won't find it at your normal auto parts place. a specialty bearing place might have a few on the shelf.

    if you can't find it locally, call kb or brad anderson. i've bought them from bae before...should be the same seal.

    worst case, measure the od of the seal and id on the crank, then call a bearing place and look for a seal with those measurements.....but i bet kb or bae will have one.

    obviously order several...

    Also depending on the amount of times the block has been line-bored the seal might be to large,letting oil leak out... its happened numerous times to me, in which case you will have to get the proper diameter and hope KB or BAE can match it...

    For the record I called KB and they said the geardrive I have will accept a stock seal. Thanks to everyone for the prompt responses. I have learned a TON of Info on this site and its made switching from a Nitrous motor to a blown set up pretty smooth, I actually know where all of those dang fuel lines go now!
