bellhousing centering

    What Is The Correct Method Of Indicating A Bellhousing To The Crank Centerline Bbc I Think I Know Just Wanting To Make Sure I'm Correct Thanks Guys

    Good question, most won't even ask (or check)!
    Using a magnetic base with a test type indicator that is tall enough to reach the back of the can, (dial type is too hard to adjust) base goes on bare crank while indicator goes through can register. Turn crank to set indicator and get reading. Lenco tolerance is .025. All steel cans that have the window hole cut after hydroforming will have the hole moved toward the empty area by .017 to .020 (within tolerance, but any welding such as strut rod brackets and pedal mounts should be checked before calling Lenco and blaming them! Any block that's been linehoned or welded should be checked!!! Of course any Ti can from a F/C that has EVER shook the tires needs to be checked (also for square).
    Guess how I know this stuff.......

    You mean to tell me that you are not supposed to jump & down on the back of the Lenco, beat the couplers in with a hammer or prybar????? :eek:
    Damn now somebody tell's me....;) :rolleyes:
