We'll be running a 421 and had a couple questions. How many runs are you getting? What is your favorite brand?

No one likes BME, GRP or XYZ:confused:

I've heard some teams get 50 or so runs. Could it be?

GRP Life of the rods depends on the driver and the tune up.

We're new, so we're going to make mistakes. But assuming a "safe" tune up, how many runs could you expect?

There is usually only a couple of things that will cause rod failure in an a fuel engine. They are both tuneup related. Keeping the throttle down after dropping cyls at the hit is one way, to lean a condition whis sets up detonation is another, getting the tires loose to excessive rpm is another.
Unless you are running a lot of races the rods (good ones) will last most of the season. I have had some rod failures but never one that was the rods fault. A happy engine will last a long time. An unhappy one may not make it down the track one time. The problem is that the window where they will perform is so narrow that changes in altitude and heat magnify the tuneing problems.
