    Oil Pump

Kyle I Agree With John 5 Gallons Is Pretty Much The Norm On A Funny Car. On The Pressure Do You Run 3in. Mains Or The Smaller Ones. Common Pressure Seems To Be 120 Psi Which Usually Buy The Time You Do A Start Up,burn Out,back Up There Will Be A Lot Of Oil Up In The Heads Buy Then Pressure May Drop A Little And As You Go Down The Track Thru The Lights It May Drop A Little More. Typically The Car Will Not Scavenge A Lot Out Of The Pan Because It Doesn't Get To Run Long Enough After The Pass.

I am running 3" mains. Pressure seamed lower than the wet sump set up that i was use to (70-80psi on initial fire up in the drive). didn't know if it should be higher or not?

    Oil pressure

In one of your previous posts you made it sound as though you weren't planning to pull the pan down between rounds. Make sure it comes off after every run, it's less trouble than replacing a motor. As to the oil pressure, I'd sure like to see lots more than your 75 to 80 PSI. With our nostalgia top fueler, Rodeck 392 style motor, we run about 220 PSI cold and it winds up around 150 at the end of the pass. That is not to say that every motor needs that much, but better to err on the high side than pay the price. We also use five gallons per run, no oil in the motor, ya don't need it as the dry sump pump will pick it up immediately.

    baffle

put a baffle in your oil tank to prevent the oil from rushing away from the pickup when you hit the chutes. that will help alot during shutdown.
