just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on intake gaskets. im running a blown hemi with a KB manifold, and BRAD heads. at about 25 psi im blowing alky between the the head and intake. im just thowing them in dry like i always have, but this time she's blowing by. im just using regular gaskets from wizards. are you guys coating the with anything? or are there better gaskets out there? im sending the manifold to be decked now, but is there any kinda insurance move i can make with the gaskets?

Most likely the angle of the mating surface of the head does not match the angle o the surface on the manifold. Put the manifold on without a gasket and use a feeler gauge on the upper and lower part of the mating surface and see if there is a gap at one or the other. If there is you can tell a good machine shop how gap at the bottom or the top and they can resurface the manifold to match the head angle.

I would have the heads machined for "O" rings also. They are more forgiving when it comes to surface irregularities. You might also look down the manifold port to the head to check for any misalignment.

I run a KB 16 bolt manifold with early heads that dont allow O'rings with 42psi boost, so my solution was to have the manifold machined correctly and I replaced the paper gaskets with aluminium plates the same thickness as the gasket that I was using, I use a smear of silicone for a sealing agent and we haven't had any probs with sealing at all, we also fixed a SBC the same way with excellent results.
