I can't imagine a lot of teams are switching over to SSI because it is hard to get a new one . I heard they were only servicing their blowers and not mfg any . The last time I was at their shop it was tough to dodge the m/c wheels while walking to the blower room .

I Would Agree With Dques The Chance Of Even Getting A Ssi F Rotor Is Slim To None. The New Ssi F-2 Which Is Designed Similar To The Superman K-11 I've Heard From A Tractor Puller Works Very Well But Again Getting One Is Next To Impossible.

Is there a reason that a TAFC cannot use the Kobelco K-11 Superman?

Atchison used a kobelco ( not sure if it was a k11 ) up until mid last year I believe then he switched over to the PSI . Jim Sickles also had one .

I am talking about the Kobelco K-11 SUPERMAN version and not the regular K-11. The SUPERMAN uses the K-11 rotors in a longer case with a different front bearing plate which moves the output airflow back 2.5" so it allows more even flow to all cylinders.

    Blower

As Far As I Know There Is No Ban Of The Superman Or The F-2 That Ssi Makes. By Design The Psi Is The Same Thing And Even Dual Gear Making It A Very Long Piece. The Only Groups Where I Have Seen The Superman Blower Banned Is Nostalgia Fuel Funny Car,nostalgia Fuel Dragster And There Is A Group Of Double Aa Gas Cars On The West Coast That Won't Allow The Use Of Them But As Far As I Know They Are Allowed In Ihra.

Then seeing how the heavy ProMods are running with the Superman if I had a IHRA Funny Car then I sure would be trying one (if I had an extra $8800 includes mods).

    Try this site http://www.dmpeinc.com/

As far as blown ProMods are concerned the K-11 Superman modified by Darren is the best out there. They have tried the PSI hi-Helix and Littlefields with Kobelco rotors but this one is the bee's knees

i've used a littlefield hi helix retro, ssi f rotor, kobelco k9, and now have a superman k9 and have found that the superman builds boost right at the hit almost too fast for our kind of racing <outlaw street car or pro mod with street tires and mufflers> can't see yet that it builds more boost than the others but its a bad boy at the hit

The real advantage of the "Superman" is the setback built inside the blower which allows a more even distribution of air into the cylinders and like what you said more hit sooner. The amount of boost is probably the same as a regular Kobelco with the same rotors unless one has had it modified by Darren Myer.
