I am just wondering if anybody else had similar experience.

I had ordered a 2 spd Lenco w/reverser blanket from Deist in the middle of April. The one that showed up did not have a reverser cover. I sent it back to exchange it and had been waiting for the new one for the last four weeks. Missed Div.4 Shreeport race last week and will miss the test session we had scheduled for this week. I call them twice a day every day and keep getting promises that it will ship tonight. It had been boxed up for a week and half and all they need is invoice typed up. Everybody blames the invoice not being ready for not shipping the part. I am sure that it does not take a week and a half to produce an invoice, and mainly I cannot believe that they refuse to ship the part and just bill me later (particularly since I gave them a credit card number). Definelty not somebody to count on to get your parts straight to the track overnight. I had been dealing with them for the last 8 years and never had a single problem when the original owner was alive.

Today, I finally told them to keep it and luckily got some great help form Taylor Motorsports who helped me out by building a blanket in the time frame that I need.
Those guys are really there to serve the racers. Many thanks to them.

I guess I am done venting now.

I recently had the same experience with Deist. I ordered a new F/C suit from them that arrived all jacked up. The size was wrong and the color scheme was not as ordered. I sent it back along with my old suit to help them get it right and it took almost four months of "It'll be shipped this week", "I'll call you back this afternoon", and a variety of other commonly used excuses before I saw it again. My all time favorite was: Put me on hold 10 minutes before their shop closed and then never returning to the phone. I think all of their employees have been sent to the 'Crappy Business Tactics 101' course. It finally required a third party acting as my agent to get my stuff back. Of course it still was not completely correct.
Honestly though, considering all the shenanigans they pulled, I feel lucky just to have my stuff back at all. I was very concerned that they would close their doors with both of my suits!!
Deist has demonstrated many behavior characteristics of a company that is on the verge of going under. I've seen it happen before. Not sure if that's the case but it has to make you stop and wonder since they used to have fairly good customer service and got stuff out correct and on time.
Definitely consider shopping somewhere else for safety stuff.
Note to Vitali: If you had to deal with Cara, I feel for you. I can only say that those are minutes of my life that I will never be able to get back.

Jim Maher at dragparts.com told me that Deist has been sold and everybody has reported back to him the the service has gone down the toilet not that is was good before. Call Joe Hanson at Dj Safety. 323 221.0000. Sorry Dennis. Had to do it because he really helps me out. Back to deist. I needed my fc boots repaired and they had my boots for two months and when I called they gave me an estimate for more than a new pair cost. I just wanted the plastic on the bottom replaced because it was broken and irritating sliding back and forth.

Why didnt you call Dennis Taylor at Taylor Motorsports, or Bruce Bowler at Phoenix Apparel? Both of these guys are racers, and they dont mess around.
    good luck.

Dennis, you can send my check to the address on file
    Bruce, same goes for you

    Hey Don...what's happening?

Are you racing this year? Just curious...because I'm not (racing anymore, that is). Parked the monster and bought a couple 50+ year old cars that need lots of lovin'.

Hey Randy, Corvettes I'll bet... Your ROI on the Vettes will be MUCH greater than the TA/FC's. As the series get back around here you'll be seeing us at the races. We will run 7 or 8 more times before its all done(hopefully). My family and I have been finishing up the restoration/updating of our home(s). So we are finally getting back in racing mode.

    Don:

Your would be "correct" (car restorer lingo). I bought a Pennant Blue 1954 a month or so ago and just took delivery of a Cascade Green 1957 Fuelie yesterday which was shipped from Annapolis, Maryland. The 1954 needs lots of loving, but the 1957 fuelie is a frame off restoration with a 97+ point Top Flight certificate from the NCRS. I'm scared to drive it for fear of getting a water spot on the underbelly.

I took the 1954 to a cruise night at a local pizza parlor and quite a few had never seen one before. Some didn't even know it was a Corvette. They liked the side curtains, no door handles, wire mess stone guards over the headlights, the big inline Blue Flame six, the rocket jet tail lights and the plexiglass over the license plate on the trunk lid.

Pete may want to start racing again next year, and I may have a line on a potential sponsor. But for now I'm really enjoying the tinker factor involved in these historic cars. I still have my finger in racing somewhat. I have a fuel system on Shane Sanford's sand TAD and there are a few others in TA/FC that I help out over the phone. Shane has a 541 c.i. Brad 5 fathead with my old 2002 PSI at 125% over in the sand. Man, I wish we could spin ours that hard. It makes a lot of power.

By the way, like you, Pete is also finishing his house and hasn't the time right now. He really enjoyed Pomona and has been re-bitten by the bug.

    Good to talk to you.
