Set the Two-Step at 4500, and hit it to the board a couple times. I know a lot of people were wondering what it does with a screw. It makes 35lbs of boost at 4500. It has 8.8 gallons of fuel going in it at that speed, with the Barrel Valve wide open. Very, Very smooth sounding. When we had our Kobelco on there before, and it made 25lbs at the same speed.
The motor is a 526" KB olds with Ray Franks 12 degree wedge heads, "Basicly the same as a good 14 degree Big Chief".
The blower is a PSI "C" rotor at 86% over right now. We bought the blower new about 3 months ago.

    The Egt's were as follows. - #1-362 #3-314 #5-812 #7-807 #2-290
#4-392 #6-568 #8-849. Avg.EGT - 549. Timing is set at 30 degrees. Motor has 10.7 to 1 compression. We used to run it with 32-33 degrees with a Kobelco 16-71 @ 34 over, but I took a few degrees out of it to be safe! When we used a Kobelco 14-71 Superman blower, it made about 41lbs @ 9000rpm.

I know the EGT's are all over the place, but I think the seemingly hotter ones have more fuel burning in the pipes. Walt Austin spent a good amout of time working on the fuel system setup for us. From the first startup the car runs awesome. It also uses port idle nozzles along with the regular port power nozzles.

The big question for me is this. How much boost do you guys think this will make at say 8800 rpm, at 86% over??????? Walt's best guess was around 44-46 pounds at the top of high gear. "Around 8800-9000rpm". It uses Jeff Burnetts newest PSI style Carbon 4-Hole funny car hat.

As we do more things to the car, I will post more info. I think its pretty important for us to share info when we can. As long as its honest. I understand that the serious guys can't do this because their so competitive. But this is an Outlaw Street/Heavy Pro Mod setup.

Was it putting out cylinders while it was on the two step, and if so, how fast did it pick them back up? You said it sounded smooth, is it an actual two step or a rev. limit that works differently? I'm assuming it's on a promag. Why wouldn't it sound like a normally aspirated motor sounds when on a two step?
    thanks

Lonnie, are you using the 8973 ProMag controller two step a 7531 or just a standard two step add on box?

Is this legal on ta/fc or tad in NHRA? Who would be using this in these classes if it is legal? The rule book is confusing, so just looking for clarification. thks.

Sorry to confuse you, I am on a Outlaw blown ProMod so anything I do is legal. It would be a NHRA/IHRA interpretation of the rules because a two step is not a electronic fuel control and not an electronic ignition timing control.

Its a normal Two-step that you buy from Jegs or Summit. I think it sounds so smooth because of the volume of fuel going in it. To answer the dropped cylinder question. No, it doesn't seem to be putting out any cylinders.

Mike, I have a friend using the 7531 connected to his Pro Mag. It works great, But his rev limiter seems to be more violent with that box!!

Lonnie we use the 8973 Digital ProMag controller with the digital "soft touch" rev controller for a launch two step. We do not dump any fuel and so far do not have any problems. Joe finds it easy to stage and be right on the launch rpm. It makes clutch tuning a lot easier. The 7531 uses the same soft touch rev limiter as the 8973 that never selects the same cylinder twice in a row so you never load up a cylinder.

Yeah, I would never dump fuel. Everybody I know that has done it, has danced their heads.
