I'm sure you guys can help with this even though this is a solid frame website...I've got two tube chassis camaros with Hoosier tires. They are both strut front 4 link cars. The 68 has a 1350hp n20 bbc and weighs 2600 lbs with a 1.80 glide. The 69 uses a 2000hp alky bbc with 1.80 glide and weighs 3000 lbs. I have 16*33*15 and 17*33*16 Hoosier slicks(I don't have the p/n's with me) I've been running around six psi in both cars and had trouble hooking. The 69 likes to shake at the top of first gear. The 68 works ok on a slick track but wads the tires excessively and spins at the hit like it hits the tires too hard on a good track. Seems to me that more air pressure would help both cars but several chassis guys have warned not to go over 6 psi and claim 5.5 will work.
    thanks Mike

It sounds like the 68 maybe too loose on the shock extension that is causing too hard of a hit on the tires. You might try tightening just the extension one hole or click and see what happens. Have you had your tire pressure gauge checked for accuracy? Do you have beadlocks? If you don't have beadlocks then you might want to try going up to 6 1/4. If that doesn't work then the other option is to drop down to 5 1/2 so your tire cups up in the middle and launches on the outer edges. This will bring up your wheel speed and help stop tire shake. As soon as you get up on the tires the will ride on the center section again.

As far as the 69 shaking at the top of first gear with a glide could be a tuneup problem that is allowing the power to drop.

I run 36 psi in front, and 34 in back of my Dodge Caravan.
    It hooks good.

Haven't you got better things to do? By the way, doesn't this subject remind you of someone?..... " no problem " !!!!
