why does nhra only have driver profiles on their "pro drivers" on the nhra website? you would think the lucas oil series, deserves driver profiles "online" to the average fan,as well as sponsors & teams.their are many great names in the alcohol ranks that are much more deserving of that online profile than some of the up and coming noname drivers in their pro classes!many of these alcohol drivers and teams have made a career in the alcohol ranks and are content to stay their!let's not forget that ta/fc is a pro class in ihra !!

    Agree.

I think it would great to have on this site profiles of the alcohol drivers and on the crew. I believe the crew profiles might be more interesting.

Nhra will never let any of the "lower" classes have a chance of taking anything away from "their chosen few". It's ashame that their whole thought process revolves around 20 or 30 teams.
Profiles on all of the class teams would be an excellent way to promote the whole scope of the sport not just the tip. If you look at this sport, it is a true pyrmiad - the futher down from the top the larger the structure, also it was built from the broad base up. NHRA treats it as a inverted pyrmiad - which "it ain't" in the real world.
I would bet the sportsman section of a profile site would get more hits than the pro section would get.

Even though I do agree with you, and wouldn't mind reading the profiles of the sportsman racers, you guys are forgetting one thing. Ther are something like 4-500 licensed alcohol drivers in the US. Do you have any idea how hard it would be to get the profiles up of that many racers. Not to mention all the other sportsman classes. If you notice they don't even have ALL the pro stock teams.

Sounds like a good idea John.

NHRA.com has included sport compact drag racing series in there profile area no reason they can not have a Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Driver Profile area as well.

    Will,
Why don't you set up a driver profile section that would include owners and crew and when enough drivers provide information approach NHRA about a link. Even without the link word would get around about the profile section for alky racers that it should inhance the site and traffic.

    Will,
At least you could start with the top twenty from the previous year, then as teams excell that are not on the list add them - say if they start going a couple of rounds at Nationals etc.-add them. Then at the end of the year look at the points - if a team staggers then remove their team from the top 20 list into a accumulitive profile - as long as they race its there. This would eliminate the immediate impact burden on your time and system. Obviously it's their responsibility to supply you with all information that you deem neccessary and in a quick response time. This could work regauardless of sanctioning body. If a small promo fee would be required - so be it.

    Evening Folks,
The Top Alchohol Racers Association is currently working on a way to get the team profiles up on its site. We are still working things out, but should have something going by the end of this week or early next week.

maybe the smart thing to do is start sending e-mails to Lucus as he is the sponsor and air our feelings to him as a way to gain access to nhra........

THis site The new and improved TARA site (thanks to Mark King) or Speedzone would be great sites to have a driver profile section. Drag race canada does a similar thing on their site and it has a couple hundred profiles on it I think. Bruce charges 60.00 - 100.00 per year for this. Which I personally think it a great price. He will pdate once a year It is essentially a mini web site (one Page). Let's do a poll as to weather or not the team would be willing to pay this price for a page of your own. If this was done right. I am betting NHRA.com would put a direct link to the home page.
