    taken from compplus.

    Lee, I'm with you.
I'm really enjoy seeing the afuelers thunder in the 20's.

I just wish NHRA would listen to the racers and allow the blown cars what they need to also be able to run in the .20's (or even consistenly in the low to mid .30's).

    keeping license active

I've decided to do the same for this season tired of all the crap and getting pissed on at the nationals. Gonna race a few select races on good tracks

Then I guess you don't care about winning a championship. The rules are what they are. If you think A-fuel is the only way you can win a championship then you have to adapt and go to that combination.
What about in the sport of basketball when the league changed and allowed the 3 point basket. What if some coach just thought that was stupid and said I'll be damned if my team will switch and start shooting 3 pointers. Thats not how we play around here. I guess he would be screwed when he went up against a team that shot the hell out of the 3 pointers. So if that team really wanted to be competitive and win a championship then they would have to accept the rules for what they are and start shooting 3's. Those rule makers are a strange bunch, let them make the decisions. As a racer or a basketball player you don't have the luxury of making those decisions. Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it. So you have to make a decision, life is too short, if racing is your passion and you are hell bent on winning you do what most have already done and go with the option that gives you the best chance to win. All these A-fuel drivers had blown cars in the past. They read the writing on the wall. Lee, you are a hell of a nice guy and none of this is personal. I am just stating my opinion, and who knows, it's probably wrong!

Is it fair if only 1 team gets to shoot 3 pointers? If all of the blown teams had to switch there wouldn't be alot of teams left. Most teams would just quit. The biggest reason a-fuel has such a big advantage is the rules. If NHRA wants us all to play together they have to make it fair for everyone. That being said, I don't ever think it will be even at every track under any circumstance. I also don't agree with blanket rules. If the majority of a-fuel teams in fair conditions can break the blown world record that was set in perfect conditions, something has to be done.
This isn't about blown vs a-fuel, but the survival of our class!

    See ya in Vegas!

Does that Mean that IF(?) NHRA were to Open the Flood gates at the Blown cars and give them FC Motors(526 CI) at 125% would the A-fuel guys care if the Blown cars were in the Teens??? How long do you think it would take for Darien, Reichart and Shields to Raise Cain about the Rule change?

If the rules were changed and the blown cars had an obvious advantage, and that advantage existed for more than one season, they would be putting blowers back on the cars. Those guys don't bitch. They want to win now! Whatever it takes is what they would do. It's funny to me that people would even doubt that. That was an easy question to answer. Most of the the guys that are serious about winning championships have already switched once because that was what it took to be the fastest car. If blown cars were all of a sudden the faster combo then they would be driving blown cars.

Perhaps a better analogy is what was (or wasn't) done for the roots blower when the screw blower became the blower of choice. The dominant combination becomes the combination to use.
