BRUCE HORNER Hospitalized Again - Let's give him some help!

Bruce Horner (The Horner Brothers T/AD) was hospitalized again this past weekend with gall bladder complications. Fortunately, it had nothing to do with his recent (and successful) non-cancerous brain tumor surgery. However, he may have a longer recovery for this latest setback, and Bruce has no health insurance.
Now, I just got off the phone with Kenny Winward who is spearheading an effort to get some help for Horner. I've known these guys since the '80s, back when I crewed for the Ruggiero & Roberts AA/DA, and I'd do anything for them so I'm sending a hefty check today. Hey, I'm single! Why let it sit in the bank? If you have some extra budget, please consider helping one of the true good guys in Top Alcohol Dragster. You can call Kenny Winward at his office (302) 328-6911), where his wife Helen will likely answer the phone. They'll fill you in on how to help out and where to send your generous support. If we all pitch in, the Horner Brothers will be back where they belong -- at the drags. Thanks in advance for whatever you can do to help.

    Horner Medical Update

The news improves. Bruce is off the respirator and fighting infection, as well as pneumonia (the only thing hospitals offer free of charge). His spirits are good, though he'd rather be racing. They had him up and walking a little yesterday and though he's decidely down on power, he's doing "weller." Thanks to the efforts of Kenny and Helen Winward, as well as several friends and fellow alcohol racers, the Horner Brothers may have less worries when it comes to relieving their debt to both the doctors and the hospital. If you can see it in your heart to help out, kindly direct your generosity to Bruce Horner, 300 E. Johnson Ave., Dept. ITA, Bergenfield, NJ 07621.
Also, please know that these guys race because they're racers. Late last season, they purchased their first new chassis in 17 years, raced it some, broke some stuff, and then won the Snowbird Nationals at Moroso Motorsports Park for the second consecutive year. The brothers live with their mom, pool their money and race. Oh yeah, that new car still remains unpainted. Thanks in advance for whatever you can do to help their situation, and thanks to Will Hanna for allowing us to spread the word so quickly about this long-time Division 1 racer. Back-to-back surgery is scary, while an avalanche of medical bills is scarier, still.
