How well do Titanium exhaust hold up as compared to stainless exhaust valves? Blown alchy SBC 25 lbs boost 8% over 8-71. I am wondering if I should take out the titanium and put in stainless or if the titanium are all right for "light" duty use?

The primary reason for Ti valves is the reduction of weight to stop valve float especially when fighting the boost pressure. So my question to you is what RPM are your turning? Why if you already have Ti valves do you want to take them out? On a SBC your exhaust valves are fairly small and light compared to other engines. The intakes in your motor are what are heavy.

The EGTs of a blown alcohol (1050-11*F) are a lot less than a gasoline race engine (1300*F) and a lot less that a big nitrous motor (1300-1500*F) so Ti valves are not required due to heat.

titanium have a benefit in being light on the valve train! Good for anything but top fuel due to the heat-go for em!

    go titanium

ti exaust valves are used in nearly all blown alcohol applications. as mike stated, nitro and nitrous motors can't run ti exaust valves due to the heat.

    Valves

I am running titanium now, just wanted to make sure I was not making a mistake. I turn about 8700 in the lights, next set of tires will be taller that should lower it a little. Thanks for the advice.
