    Need some help here.
This may be a basic question ,but I need some small advice.
Why on a hi helix roots blower deal do you position the hi speed behind the barrel valve in the port feed line?
Can you do this on a std helix roots deal?

Thanks heaps guys for the help.

If you are refering to what i think you are, then its not a hi speed its a poppet to let the port nozzele come in at a pre set r.p.m. so the motor don`t flood at low r.p.m.;)

    high speed

clayto, when you position the high speed lean on the port line side of the barrelvalve,it is easier to get the correct percent of fuel out&return it to the system.keep in mind what the high speed lean is designed to do,as rpm goes up,the pump pressure&output goes up,but at a certian point, the engine looses effiency as an air pump, the highspeed is to keep everything on a even keel.

Clayto, Do you mean the poppet/poppets that are directly in back of the Barrel Valve? Or are you reffering to the poppet thats in the Port nozzle feed line itself. In other words, is the poppet actually screwed into the port nozzle distribution block that sits on, or just above the back of the manifold, and below the blower? If thats what your reffering to, then that is a "port check". A port check usually starts to open "Depending on the tuner and staging RPM" during staging, or right at the hit of the throttle. ONCE AGAIN, the time of the port check opening time varies, depending on what the tuner wants, and how he runs his car!! You don't want your port nozzle's coming in while the car is idling. However, if it is set so high that it doesn't open until after you swap feet, you will either crush bearings or kick some rods out. Especially if its a good blower and the boost comes up quick.
    Hopefully this helps!!

I thought about this, and the only thing I can come up with is that, Like Mike Tkach said, the blower starts to lose efficiently and starts to heat and expand the air so you don`t get more air in the motor but less, so it makes sense to lean out the port nozzles and put more fuel through the blower to keep it cooler, and i dont see why you can`t do it with a standerd blower.:D ( maybe you just uncoverd a secret!!!!!)

The outlets on the barrell valve are a common feed, so the hi-speed takes fuel away from the whole system not just the port nozzles. Lets not forget the fun part of re-shimming everytime you make a main jet or nozzle change.

clayto,i see no reason you can,t do it with a standard helix blower, afterall,it is less efficient than a hh blower

    Thanks guys.
I was refering to the poppet for the hi speed not the port check valve.I have seen the poppet in different positions Non helix they have them at the T on top of the fuel shut off.Hi helix I have seen them behind the barrel valve in the port line.
I am wondering if I could use one in my port line to bleed fuel away out of my port circuit at high RPM where my engine doesnt need the most fuel.I run a standard blower.

I think you are on to something, the more i think about this the more i like it, if you can tap into your port block and put the hispeed there, after the poppet i think you would kill two birds with one stone let the hat nozzels stay rich and cool the blower, and leanout the port system. and it will work with any blower.

I agree with Hootersfunnycar post , wherever the hi -speed is installed, it lean the entire system. not only a part of the fuel system
