    Chrysler Blown Alky Wedge Heads

Hi John. You're not the only one thinking this way. I've got one under development (the very EARLY stages). The sbc guys seem to be having some problems with their 3-5 and 4-6 cylinder heat issues. Do you (or anyone else) have anything to say about this? Thanks, Mark.

    Hi Mark,
Yes we have those same problems. As people will say keep the ports a little bigger on these cylinders. We have only done a few test days and found that running water in the heads has also helped. As this is an old iron block combination we aren't expecting too much, more a learning curve for the whole team.
    Thanks John.

    Wedge Head Issues

I'm getting mixed reactions concerning Chrysler wedge heads in a blown alky application. I've heard "run water", run a solid head (they're B1 Moved Centerline, by the way) and I've heard the water heads can be Hard Blok poured and this will help for a while. I'd really appreciate hearing any and all opinions. P.S. I already own the heads (water type) and plan on using a Keith Black solid block (9.98 deck ht.). 446 cu.in. with SSI 1471 std. helix. Lets hear whats out there! Thanks, Mark.

    Mopar Wedge Heads W/ Alcohol

    Hey Guys,
I'm Not Sure What I Can Say To Help But We Are Running A Indy Maxx Block(alum) W/ The Solid Indy 440-1 Heads (yes The 440-1s) We're Running A Psi Long Shaft D-rotor On Top. The Weird Thing About Us Is That We Run In Denver Most Of The Time & Our Average Corrected Altitude Is Around 9000 Feet! But We Are Running In The Low 6s High 5s & We Have Found A Nice Tune Up That Isn't Really Putting Much Pressure On The Bearings Or Anything. I Don't Know If You Read Mopar Action Magazine But We Were A Feature Car In The August 2001 Or 02 Issue "banshee Of Bandimere".
If You Have Any Specific Questions Please Let Me Know & I'll Pass On What We've Tried Good Or Bad.
    Thanks Guys & Goooo Mopar!!!!!,
    Bill Wade

    Hi Bill,
If you are willing to answer a few questions could you please post your email address or send me an email at jpclayton@optusnet.com.au

We would just like to be able to discuss ideas with someone who is actually running a chrysler wedge.

    Thanks Bill,
    John C

    Blown Wedge

I would try to talk to Joe Boniferro. He runs consistent 6.40's in a 2,700 pound doorslammer that he races in Q16's and IHRA T/S. He runs B-1 heads and gets help from Kofffel's Place (wich is the maker of the B-1's). Joe's website is www.joestransmissiom.com.
