Sounds like a dumb question, but I am looking for the bolt sequence and spec's for BAE fuel heads with 9/16" studs.

    Thanks,

    Justin

there are a couple of ways

the traditional 'tried 'n true' method is to start in the middle and work your way out. on the 9/16 studs you can go 130+. i have had the best luck using moly lube on the studs. after you have torqued the block studs, go back and torque the inner studs inside out with a 3/8 torque wrench and a crows foot to 39.5 lbs.

another way one hard running team told me they did it was to torque the inner studs first to like 50 lbs, then torque the bottom row outside in. supposedly it allows you to get away with more cylinder pressure. i see the theory, but i wouldn't advise this method unless you got another head in the trailer ready to run when that inner stud never makes it to 50 lbs on the torque wrench.....

inner studs on hemi heads are notorious for pulling the threads out. be sure when studding your heads to liberally apply never seize during installation, and i always chase those threads with a tap before as well. you can heli coil them the first time, then it's insert time...

Why are the fuel heads torqued so much different than the fatheads?
