My turn to ask a question for once. First let me say I hope all had a great Christmas and will all have a fast and safe New Year.

I am helping a friend set up his new Funny Car, NHRA specifications, and we are at this point that we do have a little control on the chassis weight. Does anyone have recommendations as the front to rear weight bias? Does one try for 51% on the rear tires like in a promod or 50/50 or? If on four corner scales how do I want the weights on the rear tires, both even or try and put some more on the right rear tire? What about the front tires.

I would appreciate any advice because all I know is how to set up a door car with a 4-link. If you don't want to put the advice on the board then please either PM me or send me an email at mike.c@mindspring.com.

I guess I need to correct by last input. I said "try and put some more on the right rear tire?". I meant to say the left rear. Sorry

hi mike, i assume the car is all together and the body is on...
if so...get your car on the scales and with your driver in it and body down
record the wieght of the 4 scales and then repost all the individual weights here and then we can get you going on where to put the weight or adjust...
    right front...left front...rt rear...lft rear.....and total of all four
also frt tire diameter and rear tire diameter...

Have not put the motor in yet. We want to sit it in and mock it up and get it on the scales soon. As soon as we do that I can supple the data.

Mike , who made the chassis?
If its an S&W then this will apply, watch how far out the engine is. If it is 65 or shorter then basically run everything up front with common sense as to what goes right and left. Basically we have tried rear and front weight comb. with the later being easier to handle. All we have done to the chassis is to play we the right side spindle height in 1/8" increments to adjust any tendency of the car not to go straight.... Hope this helps !
