Mick runs 5.59 at 256 mph in qualifying .His personal best e.t. and speed I think . I find it hard to believe that convertor locks up that good but it must to run 256 mph .

i was about 400' downtrack in the stands. was anyone watching snyders car from that perspective? that thing carried the wheels at both gear changes. they definately have that converter thing figured out. i also spotted norm grimes in their pits. you know, where ever that guy goes it seems like the car always picks up....lol that is one smart guy!

Thanks guys. This car is a blast to drive. Dad has really got this thing figured out; sometimes he even amazes me. On a side note, I don't think Norm was at Chicago, but I guess our old family friend, Gibby, could look like him from a distance.

And to think the Snyders run fifty...(yes 50!) cubes less than the competition! Food for thought for all you antique stone age clutch fools... can your clutch MULTIPLY torque?

Congrats to Mick, Larry, Bev, Rick and the whole Snyder gang for another diivision 3 championship! You kicked our (Townsend/Parkertech)asses all year long! Who else would show up and qualify #1 then LEAVE because the track was "marginal" (is that polite enough)? Everytime I mentioned a LencoDrive to our team owner all I got was a pissed off look or rolled eyes and lectured on how they might.. just might work on marginal divisional tracks but will never hang with the Paynes, Newberrys and Manzos. Umm... OK. I was also told we'd never run one because our bigtime sponsor wanted TV airtime at national events and a convertor car would never get it. Well who got the airtime and who didn't? Lencodrives can and will eventually be the wave of the future in TAFC (if the class lasts that long) and ProMod. Wrenching on a blown hemi T/S car (world's quickest, fastest 65 Dodge) with a neal chance/donavan unit/lenco combo I learned convertors can and DO work! Not only are they less maintnence but for what a season's worth of clutch discs and floaters cost you can buy 3 convertors even though they last FOREVER. Ask Larry how many passes they on theirs. And just think.... if you remove the brake lever and put in a brake pedal there's never any reason to drive one handed again! Again.. Congratulations for the '59 and division 3 championship! I'll miss racing with you all but enough was enough. Maybe I'll show up next year on another team.... or maybe I won't but I'll miss you and the rest of the TA gang.
