I just saw your reply the nitro A fuel ran at 12.7:1 with a .085 gasket.. I ordered .075 but after watching videos and thinking of everything I just think the best thing for me is a blower and m1 so I’m going to have to reorder gaskets to get it down to 11:1 as I think the cam will be okay… they never spin this motor past 7300 through the lights they said because of the heavy bob weight but with the short stroke 3.75 I feel it should be okay to 7500.. I’m thinking a 1471 hh is the way to go probably

Well I’m resurrecting my thread! Lmao!! I appreciate all the tips and experiences guys.. thanks.. I bought a retro high helix Littlefield blower and a magnesium low deck blower intake.. they land here Monday.. it’s only an 8 71 but I can crank it up if needed and I’m going to set the blower back a little..been reading about staggering the nozzles anyone see this automan divider? It came with it.. I called and emailed them no answer

If NA with alky you can leave compression or up it with thinner gaskets. Most A/fuel guys run 12.5 to 13.5 depending on air and combo. WIth alky injection you will make more power nwith compression till about 14 and then returns drop. The lower the compression should give you wide tuning window.
Few things can do about port size but require lots of work and fabrication, Probably not as big as think. With alky you use about twice the fuel as gas and that takes up space in port.
As for cam should be fine. Check cranking compression, need to be well above 200. Play with cam timing to see if few degrees will bump it up,Check valve to piston. Timing wise start 34 to 36 and bump up reading strap and et slip. Then do what ever you normally do with nitrous after getting base engine tuned out. Never ran big nitrous.Have ran NA alky injection,A/fuel and blown alcohol dragster and funny car. Hopefully did not overstate some basic stuff and insult just covering bases.
