Apart from a spline drive deal crank..........

Are there any other effective ways to stop it with a normal two key conventional deal ?

    Thanks.

How much of a benefit is a crank support on a BBC deal? Either rear or front bearing setup?

In my case planning to run 192% over with a PSI-C.

The BBC snout is pretty compact and stout, but I need to order (or potentially custom design) new cranks.

    Thoughts would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

How can you possibly say that? An RCD external support will absolutely prolong the life of a BBC crank. High OD and a tight 8mm belt will kill a decent crank at the #1 main fillet in short order. I’ve always heard Winbergs don’t need a crank support but I don’t buy it

I have had all types all overdrives- all style blowers- crankshafts . All syle of supports-The outboard is to flelxible to do any good after you have it all set up and tightened put a small bar on it and it still moves. Been there and done all of the above-the inboard does seem to help Oh by the way how can I say that is because I was down that road many times - the cranks are the KEY Bryant-Wineberg -New Callies big$

Having a crank hub made from a dissimilar metal, such as Titanium, helps the galling and metal transfer. And having the bolt and washer to torque to 400 ft lbs. If the crank snout isn’t 3/4-16 thread, you need to have it drilled and tapped. 1/2” is insufficient to get it tight enough.
