I have a 3 disc crower pedal clutch. All discs and floaters started the year around .310. The floaters are similar but discs now down in the .280 range. What's the usual replace threshold. Thanks

I believe most change them at around .300. I have run alot of my disks to .280. So id say time for new ones.

Herein lies the problem with running a clutch that way. When you start with 3 new discs, then cut them every time, you pretty much have a different clutch tune up from the new discs to used up discs.

When looking at the absolute minimum you have to look to see if theres enough material on each side of the pad.

.280 is pretty close to absolute minimum. If they are that and you haven't cut them, I would not even bother.

If they are that way after you cut them, I would work one into the pack on the donut. Every time you change the clutch out, feed it one of the used discs.

I've always liked one new disc, one medium disc and one thin disc with a thick and thin floater.

Thickness is only a part of the equation ! Even when you cut them, the real factor is hardness !
For referance, a never been cut .280-.300 will be about 86 - 90 Rockwell on the "B" scale = harder than Woodpecker Lips, meaning not showing wear #'s correctly, if that's your coach's program + many more mysteries !
