do yourself a favor. buy 1 msd. i tried the dual mag setup and never saw an advantage. just uses twice as many plugs and wires. i took it all off and put 1 msd 44 amp setup on the car .

    dual mags

bruce makes a valid point on twice as many plugs and wires and one more coil to go bad. for many years newberry ran one mallory i would go for one mallory on the nostalgia fuel funny cars they are limited to one mag burning i believe 18 gallons of nitro but they do only run a standard rotor 6-71. also the dual mag i would believe would have more timing jumping around than just a single mag.

I dont have any experience with the MSD 44 or any of their stuff but i do know that for years we ran the Brad stuff with dual mags until the southern nationals in '91. We were having problems pushing the burst pannel out every run through eliminations (a small piece of silicone was floating around the fuel system and would plug a different port nozel every run) anyway everytime the burst pannel went so did the wires until the final round. Out of plug wires we borrowed a set off newb's car, put plugs in all the holes, grounded out one coil and advanced the single malory mag and went out for the round. We didnt win but we didnt run any slower either. From then on we made a set of block off plates for the holes in the valve covers and used some plugs in the heads to cover the spark plug holes and ran just as quick with less weight to push around.
