I'm an old guy running a clutch and no electronics in a fast 16/top dragster type class and getting shellacked most of the time by converter drive cars with all the electronics including two steps. I always thought a two step that stutters the engine in a blown car was a definite no-no but apparently not?? If that is the case and I wanted to put one in for more consistent launches is it set by a micro switch under the clutch pedal or what? On a pro stock car does their 2 step arm from the clutch pedal or a line lock switch and when do they arm it?

Yes you have it on the clutch switch. It takes some playing around but it needs to turn off between .005-.020 before .000. You'll have to watch your 2 step boost fuel ratio and flow numbers. Sometimes it will drop hole or you'll see a lean condition based off when the poppet opens for your pump loop.

Sounds complicated some. Never see it on a TA clutch car. What about a TA Converter car?
