Curious what everyone's favorite torque wrench is.
I know ill get 50 different answers, but I am looking for a reliable torque wrench for doing the bottom end with.
I did a search for one with extra long handles but didn't have any luck. Only needs to be up to 250 lbs range.

    Thanks.

I would always recommend a Snap On one. Always get the calibration checked every year regardless of brand and only use it as a Torque Wrench (sounds obvious). I know someone who was having all kinds of issues with his motor and insisited on using his old faithfull torque wrench , he had it tested and it was miles out. He invested in new wrenches and his issues dissapeared.

ray , call team torque inc and talk to cary hoffman . tell him the wicked quick funny car guys sent you. they have been doing our wrenches for over 20 years . they can sell you a new one, a rebuilt one or recalibrate your wrench . most name brand wrenches are very good but they vary from 2% to 5% accuracy . they tuned up my snap-on to 1% . stay away from snap-ons TQRF series as i know a lot of people that have had problems with that style wrench . hope to see you at some chaos races this year . jw

Before you make a purchase, lay under the car on the stands with the headers on and cycle through mock tightening of the 1/2 & 7/8 rod caps. Since you want to make the final pull to target torque in one smooth pull, sometimes longer is not better. No sense spending dollars for some super duty long-arm wrench only to find out it is difficult to use.

CDI makes the torque wrenches for Snap On. I've been very pleased with the units I've purchased from them.

cdi makes a lot of the big companys wrenches . i own several and have had very good luck with them. i agree with chris on the long wrench deal . we had a really long snap-on ( can't remember the model but i think it was called a brute or brutus ) and the extra length was a pain in the ass.

I agree with TAFC 577. I own a aircraft engine shop and we use CDI wrenches. Team Torque calibrates them once a year with excellent service.

Jim i called Torque Inc. They wouldn't let me talk to Cary Hoffman but made sure i let them know how i got their info.
So i ordered a CDI tool, standard length flex head with fresh calibration cert. Should be here in plenty of time for Dallas FCC, as long and shipping doesn't loose it
Thank you everyone for the suggestions and tips. I would have ordered an extra long one for sure if you guys hadn't said something.
