Impact Seat Belt Recert

I've obtained a brand new set of 'Impact' seat belts, but they are 7 yrs old... anybody recert them?
Shame to toss them.

Curious about how $$ come out once you get this recert process done. For the added recert shipping costs and time--seems not only easiest to buy new from Summit/Jegs and receive in 2 days, but also maybe even less total cost.

Been a bummer to trash 2 year old belts that look pretty darn good, but i haven't found a much better solution in the past. Is recertification a better route in regards to dollars spent?

 

My Impact seat belts were almost $400 new with cam lock, it was only around 175.00 to re-cert. w/ Nomex covering. they only use your cam lock or latch after inspecting & re-place everything else, I've done mine at least 3 times now..

For summit belts, that were 65$ new, why recert. Give them to a rock crawler or something.

For those that have cam lock, fire proof, 6,7 point belts, they commonly run in the hundreds.

Personally, i have two sets. One set is packaged up, in a box, waiting to go to DJ Safety while the other set is in the car. WHen they are getting close, i send my other set in for recert, then just swap the belts when time is due. It costs less than 1/3 the cost of new belts to have them recerted.

Yes, the 2 year rule is ridiculous.
