advice for a spectator at Pomona

We're flying into LAX airport on Thursday, renting a car and looking forward to visiting with racers from all classes. Do you have any advice on what to do and what not to do?

For instance, any hotel recommendations or any must do items while at the dragway?

Its my first time at a big show event. We have been successful blown alky tractor pullers for a long time.
