if you install a crank trigger on 44mag and install a switch to go from mag to crank trigger how much timing can you move with out hurting the motor at 8000 rpm and when you switch over are you going to feel a stumble or miss

Not if you time it first with the switch in mag position then switch it to crank trigger and time it. This makes the rotor phasing right on. If you are pulling out a lot of timing on launch let’s just say 8 degrees and you max timing is 30 degrees then you might want to set the mag timing at midpoint such as 26 degrees to help with rotor phasing when you have max timing pulled out

I was going to time the mag 20 and time the crank trigger 28 and switch from mag to crank to take some power out in the take off

So you are not using a timing computer but going to use the switching from mag to trigger? 8 degrees off on rotor phasing when on the trigger is a lot.

If so then I think an abrupt change of 8 degrees will blow the tires off.
