What do you guys recommend for a blown small block Chevrolet head ? I am using the brodix 11x heads now with a 871, 406ci we run on a 6.75 index. ( im a ways off yet) The car weighed 1850 with driver, in a dragster. Also going to switch blocks, want to run an aluminum block, but thinking of a little m. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks Les

I ran Brodix Canted Valve heads for years on my FED 4.125” bore 3.625 stroke Little M block ran 6.60’s - 6.70’s 1800lb with driver. I ran water in the heads to make the head gaskets last more than a weekend. I sold this combo a few years ago and switched to the AJPE heads and a Brodix block I have maintained the same bore stroke and has run 6.47 @ 214 but I typically run it in the high 6.60’s to 70’s with very little maintenance.

I have Paul's old top end. It is to fast for my index class, so i've gone back to 23* heads. I'm selling the Hogan intake, heads, T&D valve train, pushrods, spare pushrods & spare springs, & Brodix CS320 heads that have had extensive work done to them, (have flow sheet). Give me a holler if it sounds like something you're interested in.

Pic is this combo on my FED

Aluminum Block brings a lot of help into the mix, with heat dissipation and head gasket reliability. Little M is better than OEM, but If you're going to spend the money, and run that 3.75 stroke you really want to step up to the Iron Eagle / Rocket +.391 raised cam specs to get back into a STD base circle cam and have Rod / Cam clearance. You could stay stock deck height with a 5.7 rod and still have a decent spaced and reliable piston ring pack. The taller deck 9.3-9.5 lends it way to more reliability with 6.1" length, big block size pins and etc. If your bank account says Iron block, Look at the Motown LS, its the cats meow for Iron Smallblocks. Eliminates the head gasket issues and gets you into a modern top end with all the good part of a SBC.
