I have been hoping for some miraculous event to make this post unneeded, but no such luck yet.
As of today, our plan is to liquidate Rapid Transit Racing, and cease racing operations for our team. We were already aware of our lack of funds over the last several seasons, but when I crashed the dragster last fall it kind of was the last straw.
I hope to stay involved in the alky classes, at least on a part time basis, for as long as possible. Myself, and my amazing crew, cherish the many friendships we have made in racing. Hopefully we can keep hanging out with you all for years to come.
As soon as I can make myself get out in the shop and start making a for sale list, it will be posted on ITA. There is a nice tractor/trailer. One nice shortblock. 2 1/2 sets of Tall-Port heads. 2 PSI "D" blowers. 2 Knut carbon fiber injectors. 1 nice 9 1/2-10" Toploader rearend. 2 Trannys. 1 nice clutch. Autometer/Stack Computer system. Lots of spare parts and tools.
If there is anything specific you need sooner, let me know.
    Talk soon,
    Marty Thacker

It has been an Honor to know and work with Marty. He was like a mentor to me always willing to help. Not only was he a great driver but even a better person. Hopefully we will still see him racing at times. My car is always available. Good luck in the future whatever it holds for you. Your wheel stands will be missed by all. Take care my friend

    Marty,
We know this is one of the hardest things a true racer does. We still miss it today! We have known you and your crew since going to the winter series in Florida. Remember those races when we had 20 cars show up? Those were the days. I posted this same information a few years back and it was brutal. But I am not saying good bye to you. You travel to Florida a couple of times a year and I understand you are in possession of a beautiful motorhome. I have a cement pad, that I parked my rig on, next to a now empty shop. You are more than welcome to park there and enjoy the Florida weather. See you down the road Marty.
