    Hi All--

Looking to change up the multiple tank setup (up front in my door car) into a single combo tank, hoping to reduce some weight and gain some room, but also simplify some plumbing.

Anyone have any do's and don'ts on going with a single alum tank with multiple sections? The tank would hold approx 7 gals fuel/16 qts oil/5 gals puke.

    Thanks in advance.

If it was mine, I would not want to do that. There will no doubt come a day when you want to quickly pull just "one" of those tanks for service or inspection.

What you might consider as an alternative, is to manufacture three custom tanks that fit side-by-each, and yet have the same overall form factor as the single tank idea you proposed. In essence each of the tanks would serve its own stand alone purpose, but yet each is still separate.

Just a thought, could you put the puke tank and the oil tank in the rear?

Well one thing to start - if you do it, as mentioned above, you need to have them separate so that you can insulate the fuel tank from the hot oil tank and to a lesser degree puke tank.

Here's why most people aren't a fan of a puke tank in front - if you burn a piston or push a head gasket internally, even at 5 gallons it may huff oil out of the vent. When that's behind the rear tires, it's nowhere near the risk of doing it out on the front of the car.
