Ok what I have is an ex tafc that I run as an outlaw funnycar. I mostly run 1/8th mile tracks. My question is how do you learn how to properly tune so I can do it myself and not have to rely on other people? 526 hemi roughly 12.25:1 compression dart 96 heads, 14-71hh mert that makes 38 lbs in warm-up and say 45 during a run at 52.5% over. 3 speed cs1 1.96 ratio 4.30 gear snd the car weighs 2100 lbs. Big and ugly hat k valve 1100 pump that flows 17.0 gpm. Any help would be appreciated and no I dont have a racepak on the car. At times wish I did but I like to go have fun haul tail and not tear stuff up all the time.

Short answer - no. There's a couple of fuel system programs that will help you pick a jet for a given air, but as far as giving you the correct fuel system, no.

The only way to learn is trial and error. Depending on your degree of error will be on whether you can afford that school.

Hiring a consultant can save you thousands and really speed your learning curve up. Once you have a baseline, then you can play with the tune up within some 'boundaries' a consultant may give you.

Often times in this game, the only advice you can't afford is free...
