On the weekend I had the throttle stuck open and do some engine damage. Only thing that has changed is the filing of the barrel valve (Enderle K Style). Could this have caused the throttle to stick? It was not due to ice and the cable was fine. Any other possible causes?

Car is an Alcohol FC, Hemi, Screw blower.

Might check the linkage to see if there is anything binding or over center and check the return springs.

What were you filing on the BV? The idle slot? If so did you deburr it after? Is the linkage bar between the BV and hat centered on the swivel joints so it has good free twist movement without binding?

Yes idle slot, deburred. All linkages and springs are fine. What would be the toe loop issue? As mentioned, nothing else has changed on the car apart form the barrel valve mod. Thanks for the input.

Greg is really asking if you have a toe loop on your pedal so if it sticks open then you can pull it shut by pulling up on the toe loop.

Yes it has a loop. Driver did a great job in getting it shut down and stopped safely.

Don't know why your throttle stuck....but while we are on the topic....
I use a pusher throttle cable and a fairly strong return spring on the cable side of the injector (using a pusher does not put a load on the injector shaft if the spring is also on that side)...
I also use a lighter return spring (not putting a heavy load on the shaft) on the opposite side of the injector as a backup...
One spring at the throttle pedal is a good idea too...
Some drivers like a real wimpy throttle spring, but the safe way to go is plenty of return pressure...
