Not really a tech question, but thought someone out there has been through it and could offer advice.

Currently hold a Pro-Sportsman NHRA license, and have been diagnosed with a moderate to severe heart murmur, technically it is called "Mitral Valve Prolapse". Possible heart surgery required. Is this the end of my driving days? or after surgery can you get a clean bill of health? How tough is NHRA on this?

Thanks for any advice or sharing any experiences you might have had.

I have the same license and the same heart issue, mine must not be as severe as I've never been told I need surgery. When I first went for my license 30 yrs. ago my Dr. required me to wear a heart monitor for 24 hrs. to see if driving would cause any issues. He gave me the go ahead and I've never had a problem. I now need to send in a EKG with my license renewal due to my age. My take is NHRA relies on your Dr. to make the call whether you can drive or not.
