anyone know or use a cs1 with a quickdrive or Bruno? Some questions , why can a cs2 be started in neutral and then shift into gear when a cs1 won't? When you lift at top end how do you get the unit to let go of the engine if you shut the engine off clean thru the lights ?

Not sure what you mean Jay.. We ran cs1 and 2 with a Bruno and they function the same. Same reverser and sprag design. The cs2 shifting is a little different mechanically and I think the pod pressure was different.
Be very careful with the reverser and get the billet planetary. They are fragile and almost everyone kills one while trying to sort out their first converter drive.

There is indeed. I've fount the key is not trying to move between forward and reverse while it is bound up, sometimes this involves tickling the trans brake button. Another useful tip is to back up in high, this dramatically reduces the brake pressure required to stop and is a lot easier on the fragile reverse planetary.

So why is it when I had my clutch I always had to start it in gear. Or after a burn out my leg is dying waiting on auto guys who are resting comfortably or eating ice cream, waving to fans.... lol. And my foot turns to jelly bouncing like thumper the rabbit. Can someone walk me thru there starting Up to launching procedures

Not an expert on the converter drive Lenco's but is sounds like you don't have a neutral position on your transmission. Pretty easy conversion.

Both of my trans have neutral. But when I start the engine in neutral and try to pull it into gear it just grinds.

Are you applying the trans brake before trying to shift? The Converter drive out put will spin until the brake is set.

My dragster has a clutch and if I do not have the clutch release bearing close enough to the clutch arms, my trans grinds, too. Might close up the clearance between the throw out fork and the clutch.

At the end of the run I would knock o e of the levers fed and that would cause the trans to let go of the motor.

you need to use the transbrake as if it were your clutch pedal, hold it to shift from neutral to forward or reverse to forward. obviously, don't push it while the car is rolling unless you have already put it in neutral.
At the end of the run, you dump the air off all pods so it freewheels.
