I have an early B and J set up in our 34 and the trans brake solenoid has packed up. Its a 12 volt unit Shindengen I think. Can anyone help please.
    Thanks, Tony.

Hi Martyn that was my first call. They sold the quickdrive to another company. I spoke to them but the new transbrakes are all air operated. They said its about $1500 plus travel to change mine over. Thought someone may have had an old one sitting around.

Try Karl Harrison. They're running a quickdrive in the dragster. He may know someone from the tractor pulling crowd (although I expect he'd have responded if he did ...). Or maybe Egbert Dros (or Dick Koster) from Post en Dros....

Hi Martyn yes tried all of them lol. Dick is asking about for me. Karl runs the newer air operated one. They want $1550 to change it over plus the shipping.

The early hydraulic transbrake used a valve actuator that was made by Quicker Engineering, who have long since gone out of business, therefore those parts are obsolete. If all you need is the electric coil for the solenoid, that was sourced through Peter Paul Electronics in New Britain, CT. If that is what you need, let Steve at Quick Drive know and I am sure he can get a solenoid coil for you. I used to own US Transmission, and I did the design work on the conversion to the CO2 operated brake. Depending on what type of racing you do, etc., it might be best to have it updated, as they are far more reliable and consistent with the pneumatic transbrake. You can reach Steve at (303) 905-9923. Hope this helps.

Hi Tony many thanks I really appreciate the information. We only use it for selecting forward and reverse so just the coil needed. Regards Tony.
