Anyone ever hear of the tips breaking off of brass nozzles? I was told by a former fuel fuel crew member that they had trouble with this and switched to aluminum.

I run both and have never had a problem like this with either. Don't have a super high discharge pressure though, normally not over 200 LBS.

I've never had the tips break off, but I've wondered about that.

I've switched away from the aluminum and went to brass because the aluminum eventually galls the threads.

The fuel teams and a fuel teams ( I have been told) have problems with them breaking off. Biggest thing is the ones that are in the ports right above the valve. The reverberation from the valve closing and the airflow in the port being close to mach 2, when the valve shuts causes a shock wave that breaks the tips. Austin Coil figured it out a while back most of the fuel teams just cut the tips off the down nozzles. I do not believe the aluminum ones are the fix.
