Hi if crank had spider cracks and the crank was ground down to ten under and spiders cracks gone. Would the crank handle a thousand hp? Thx

I think the cracks would re-appear soon. If it were MY crank, I'd chunk it. It is not worth the expense of finding out the hard way. Just MY .02 worth.

If you got it mag particle inspected after it was ground and there was no longer any crack indications it would be ok to use. If they are still present after it was ground junk it. There's no guarantee a .010" grind will get rid of the cracks

Surface cracks appear from the crank getting hot. Either lack oil or tune up getting off and smearing a bearing. I've been thru this several times. You can grind the crank .010 but you also have to have the crank nitrated again. You will take all the hardness out of the crank. If you cut it .010 and run it the journal is like silly putty. It won't stay round very long. I've had those cracks happen. Ground the crank and put 50 runs back on it. Never had a failure.
