The Mezeires are good but expensive , the MSD and the better grade Powermaster are both good and can survive the 24 Volts .

I'm probably going with a mezeire. I've had the same starter for 5 or so years. The starter drive and armature stripped. So I bought a new one. Went to Indy, and a bearing broke inside. It split the starter drive housing. So Indy was a bust! After taking the starter apart, I discovered Chinese bearings in it. The old starter had better Jap bearings. These starters are advertised USA made. Now it's time to change. My buddy Jody uses a mezeire and is happy with it.

I have a Meziere starter and I have had trouble with it, after talking to Jerry he told me that it should not be used longer than 3 sec. The reason for this is that it is really a re labeled 12 V starter (like all of them).

After some trouble I finally got the combo working. I have two high current Braillle batteries, heavy duty relay between the button and the starter relay and most important of all be extremely fuzzy on all the tolerances inside and outside the starter.

I have used a Tilton "Super Starter" years ago and it worked well on 24V. I currently use a GPE starter on 24V and it works well also. I use the starter to spin it long enough to get oil to the rockers. I regularly spin it 15 seconds or more, no issues.
