    Hi all,
last year I put in a lencodrive and was running the LAT racing atf which was highly recommended to me. I was buying it for about 78 a gallon and to have 2 gallons shipped to me was about 60 bucks at the time. I just went to order more and it shows shipping to be up closer to 140 bucks.

my question is, I have already filled my converter with LAT and have some minimal residual left over from last year. would it hurt anything to switch now to lucas with is way cheaper. I can run the entire season on lucas for about what the shipping alone would cost for the LAT. can I mix with Lucas with the LAT? any input?

What is LAT? I run the heavy duty Allison trans fluid. It's supposed to prevent overheating. LAT.? Call Coan transmissions and ask for Art.

Sorry, don't remember. It's a blue 5 gallon pal. Coan suggested I run it with my turbo set up. Supposed to reduce heat. I can check tomorrow when back at the shop.

    Thanks QuickCut,
Have you tryed Lucas Sure-Shift? I just switched to Lucas but never had the car out yet. I was using Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF before. I would like to try a few different Transission Fuilds this years. I have a Lenco Drive.

Been using 20w Amsoil Synthetic compressor oil in our Lencodrive for 3 years and absolutely no wear and runs cooler.

I used Mobil 1 for years. But when we switched to turbos, it seemed it was getting hot quicker. We'll see how the CTJ does at Indy.

The only trade off with the hydraulic fluids is they will tighten up your converter, sometimes quite a bit.

I have been using the Lucas Sure-Shift on my car since new. 14-71 on a TFX running mid 6s with a LencoDrive. Converter and clutches are perfect. I will usually make 12-15 runs and change.
