For those of you with EFI meth systems (or MFI) what exactly are you doing in terms of purging your fuel systems for storage between usages?

I'm thinking along two timelines: 1) Over the course of a weekend event, and 2) Over the longer storage course.

Keep it full and topped off with adequate lube additive? Drain and let vent to air? Switch ECU cal's and run gasoline through the system for a short time?

Would be curious to hear what people are doing and how that seems to have worked out.

    Thanks.

When I was running a turbo car we would drain the fuel system and dump some gasoline in, load the gas file in and start it up and let it idle. We started out running gas and then switched to methanol so we already had a tune up to load.

On the screw blown car we run now we drain the tank, all lines and take off the fittings on the top of the pump and spray WD40. I also take off all the port lines and lines at the barrel valve and spray WD40 in there as well I then blow out with air. I then spin the engine over with the plugs out with the the starter to blow out anything that made it into the ports and cylinders. If the car is going to sit for a length of time I usually pull the jets out of the barrel valve and the fuel management because they can be hell to get out if you don't clean it out well and get some corrosion from the methanol.

We use a higher price medical grade methanol we can leave our fuel system for months with no corrosion or white death what so ever and it still passed IHRA fuel check, problem is everyone see's the price and the fact that its not VP or other well know fuel company and walks away.

Interesting. I would like to know more about what you use, and whether you use a top lube in it. Either online or offline at whome@look.ca . Thanks.

I drain the fuel system, blow it out with compressed air. Pull injectors and back blow the methanol out of them, squirt some WD-40 in the injectors and pump and cap hook it all back up. I do this every time the car is going to sit for more than 5 days or so.
I use Renegade Pro-Methanol with top lube.
