I have a Tall big and ugly with the 5 9/16 butterfly's on a small top opening high helix blower , is there any advantage to running an adapter between them or is there a better performing injector than the bau .

If you are not limited on your overdrive and turn your blower 12000 or above you would be better off making your blower opening 11" or 11.5" and keeping your big and ugly. If you are limited on your blower overdrive then you would gain either from a hat adapter for your big and ugly or getting a hat with the same size opening as your blower.
Running an injector with a bigger opening than the blower is hurting you a little.

My big and ugly has the same size opening as my blower I think it might be slightly larger but I have a 1" spacer between them that I radiased and matches them both.

At the back of your hat opening you want that angle to remain steady into the blower. If you have a spacer it should continue that same angle into the blower opening. If your spacer has a vertical wall at the back of the opening you would be better off without it.
