    hi all!
is there an "average" idle rpm to shoot for in a roots blown alky door car,as 1800 rpm seems to be the norm in screw blown door cars:same for roots?
also, could someone educate me on the burnout rpm i should use, considering the following specs:
    1:1 third gear ratio,automatic transmission
    4.56 rearend gears
    34.5 rear tire size
    thanks for any input

The best idle rpms is what the idle is in first gear. We run Top dragster with a blower on alky. 540 chevy with powerglide trans with toqure covertor. You want ruffly 1500 or so at idle in first gear. What class you running. and are you running 1/4 or 1/8th as well. And do you run a convertor as well. The reason I ask is your rear grear seams realy high. inless you are turning this thing alot of rpms. What kind of motor as well.

I have your setup. When the clutch is pushed in I idle around 2200. Then engine goes to 7500 on burnout. Backing up I can pull the pedal backwards and drag the engine down to 1800 or so. Never had a problem. You have a typical promod setup. If you have a converter it will idle much lower 1500 or so. But the blades and idle circuit gets very sensitive.

    hi!
the class i'll be running is supercharged outlaws,a dial in class where you can run anything from door car to funnycar to dragsters and altereds as long as you run a blower on alcohol:
    https://www.facebook.com/TheSuperchargedOutlaws/
the class is being run in england and germany,in full 1/4 mile.
my rearend gear ratio/tire size is the way i bought the rolling chassis,an ex pro mod car.
    the engine is a 454 cui blown alky wedge,KB block,8.71 blower,34% OD.
    converter is a 10in 3500 stall speed
