I think he meant GPE Starters. But yes. I use a GPE with 24V and it wings over my blower motor like the plugs are out.

Whatever you do, don't try to "save money" on a MSD starter...biggest POS I have ever used!

Don't try to save money on cables from the battery either. Use big ones! This is experience talking. Those $400 starters are expensive when using cables that are compact and dainty! JW

CSR Performance has a new design geared 24 Volt starter that should be real good. Call Paul at CSR and talk to him about it.

I have on on 12v and one on 16v. You can use up to 18v ? I think , without a problem ?

    GPE 24V Starter

I also use a GPE 24V mid-plate mounted on-board starter. I engage it with 12V and then hit it with 24V. Spins it like the plugs are out, too. 14HH, 526 hemi, even on a fresh build. Fires the Pro-Mag 44 every time.

I have just been through this: I bought a 10 pitch 24 Volt meziere and it died really quickly. I started looking for parts in a starter catalog I had around and it turns out that the starter motor itself is a 12 volt from a toyota camry 2.2 L diesel. I called them up and asked what the deal was and how on earth it would stand up over time. I finally got out of them that they do not recommend to run the starter for more than 3 sec and then one minute to cool down.

I bought a new meziere and a 48 volt blower starter. The idea is to build oil pressure and fire the car up on the blower starter and then use the meziere starter to start the car in the lanes.

I am not trying to diz meziere becouse they do make a nice starter BUT like the rest of them they are not really designed for what they are selling them for.

Just compare the size of the 24 volt starter on a semi truck to a race 24 volt starter.

I used a Tilton 12V starter for 5 years on BBC and KB olds using 24V to spin them worked to perfection, never an issue, our stuff always started never had to spin it for a long time and we used BIG Cables. on one car we had a small 12V onboard to run the car and a quick connect at the rear of the blower to start on 24V if you do that you must wire the starter button off quick connect not the onboard battery.
