valve tip mushroomed

when you loose a lash cap and mushroom the tip, what do you do to make next round with out putting a valve in it
I tried to file around it but theirs not much room
need a 11/32 cutter to take the mushroom off
I would put a valve in it when I get home
any body have any suggestions

We take a cutoff wheel and just be careful trimming around the retainer. Or if there is enough time pull the spring off and you can get a 90 grinder around it to polish it nicely

 

put the piston on tdc. remove spring, let valve rest on the piston. take a dremel with a stone on it, and spin the valve with your fingers while grinding the mushroom off the side of the valve. make sure the valve isn't beat down so far as to let the lash cap wall touch the keepers. you can check this, just put the keepers on and see if the lash cap hits. if it does, you cant run it, so have a beer and watch the race.
