Well if you have to re-cert it then it had to go to PSI. PSI can coat it and tighten the clearances and increase the boost. Not much more you can do to them and still be able to get them Certified. The big difference in one putting out good boost or not is the clearances and that is why you coat them.

If it does have to be re-cert is there anything else that can be done?

PSI offer a "blueprinting" service for about $3500. I don't know exactly what they do, or how much it picks things up, but I am told it is worth the $$. Has anyone gone this road and can you comment on the overall benefit?

Call PSI and talk to Andy. PSI has made a big change in their company and with customer support. Coating the rotors increased our boost. I don't think you would gain any more boost by buying another blower. If your blower is good then just have PSi revert it and coat it. Some modifications other people are doing results in the blower not being able to be re certified. There is only ONE place that can SFI recert a PSI screw blower and that is at PSI. Kevin Cantrell can also coat the blower but cannot recert it.

Thanks for the help Mike. I was looking to find out if this was an average C blower compaired to others out their. Some blowers are different sometimes. I've talked to Any about re-certing this and the coating also.

It would help to give your cubic inches, what heads you have and what cam you are using. Also need to know at what rpm and gear you are measuring boost at. The problem is I don't know many cars that run 90% on a C blower

It's a 481x 526 with Stag 1 heads. Not sure on the cam. 4:30 rear with a two speed, I read the race pak in high gear and it had 49 only for a bit i when out the back door at 9200. In first gear it only read 48 and i shifted around 9500. Are rules only allow us 90 percent. I can send you my race pak file. But this is the first time i had the car out and the air wasn't the best where we were at for this.

My guess is that it is pretty good. If you are going to send it to PSI for recert then they can measure the rotor clearance and tell you what it is and close it up with the coating if necessary. The difference between the boost in 1st gear to what is in high gear is probably due to ram air from your injector hat

Thanks Mike, By the way that drive shaft i bought off you panned out good. My old one was touching the seal on the lenco drive so it helped being a bit shorter.

We have 481x C rotor 90% boost is around 50#'s in high gear and ours has recent coating so I would say yours is pretty good.
